Located in the quiet rural township of Whorouly, REMEL 185 was established in 2008 following the demise of the tobacco industy.
REMEL 185 incorporates the old with the new.
The ‘tobacco shed’ which once stored dried tobacco piled to the ceiling and bales ready for ‘sale day’ has been transformed into a Dining Area which seats up to 120 people.
The ‘grading shed’ where many hours were once spent sorting those golden coloured leaves, is now the Kitchen, where again many hours are spent, but now to produce an array of wonderful foods, from homemade pasta to the one of the best lemon tarts you’ll ever eat.
The ‘kilns’ have remained in their original form and are well used as storage space, whilst the ‘outside area’ where tractors would once drive through with it’s cargo, is now somewhere to just sit & relax on the cool lawn, or undercover around a burning pot belly stove on a cold winter’s day.
For a family function, a reunion, a birthday, a work event or even a wedding, REMEL 185 offers you something unique.
